The Capital Guards Artillery Co. is a Confederate re-enactment group. We
participate in many events and re-enactments across Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma
and Arkansas. We campaign with an 1841 six-pounder field piece and limber.
Most of our crewmen are members of the U.S. Field Artillery Assn. (based out
of Ft. Sill, Ok.) Safety is stressed at all times. Nearly all of our members
have attended schools for antique muzzle loading field artillery safety
procedures. Several of us are certified instructors for the USFAA. We
encourage family participation. Among our activities are living history
events, school presentations, grave dedications, parades and many other
